Negative Earth

For the past two Saturdays NRT has been working with a really great team on a project for a Calgary Musician 'Trev Kill' of Negative Earth. I am super stoked about his style of music and the new music video  that I am getting to be a part of it ! Check out a few shots from the first day of shooting last Saturday ! Much more to come and cant wait to see how the rest of the filming turns out!

Korn is probably one of my favorite bands and their style just makes me even more inspired by them ! Defiantly a band that I would LOVE to create clothes for.

Like a Storm- Video shoot

 I have packed up my current collection including Gas masks, Belt pieces, and Bodysuits and taken them with me to Vancouver BC for the week to dress some bangin' Models in defiantly one of the sickest projects I have gotten to work on so far. My clothes will be in The new Like a storm Music Video and also in a film that the video is in! check It, I'm really digging this band !

Marilyn Manson (aka Brian Warner)

A lot of my inspiration comes from Music and the biggest inspiration hands down is Marilyn Manson. He is a genius. His early days with Marilyn Manson are defiantly my favorite, and his most Brilliant video has got to be Beautiful People. I am yet to find a music video that inspires me like this one ! Yes its creepy and deranged and when I was young I had nightmares about Marilyn Manson!  Who would have thought I would be so in love with him now!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Grand theater in Calgary last night for FABRICATED. The show went amazing! Great turn out, AMAZING models from Imodel Management  http://www.imodelmanagement.ca/n who knew Calgary could actually have HIGH fashion models !!!!! Met some really great volunteers, and HeadKandi as always a pleasure to work with Nicole Sanders and her team.


So great to see the local support ! keep checking back for photos!

DESTINEAK

I have had the amazing opportunity to work with DESTINEAK a local Vancouver band. Christina Sing First saw NRT Fashions when she came to calgary for an event at West. I had my mom drop off some outfits for her as I was in Toronto at the time.

I then was asked to do the wardrobe for a video that they were flying out to Cabo San Lucas to shoot in june 2011. I had 2 and a half weeks to put together a series of outfits for the both of them ! I couldnt have imagined I would be actually going out to mexico with them to work on the video ! It was such an incredible experience, from all the amazing people I met, to Beach Partys,  ATV and horse back rides, boat rides, hummers and my own private room for the week!

Here is the result of 17 hour shoot days in plus 40 weather, and getting to work with two people who also have such creative minds !

TORONTO ALTERNATIVE ARTS AND FASHION WEEK

In april I decided to go to Toronto to do a show for FAT. It was so much fun going out there and seeing the fashion in a big city like Toronto. FAT is different than most fashion weeks because it is much more creative in my opinion. Definatly not your typical collections going down the runway. So mine fit right in. Getting to show on the bussiest night was amazing so many people and so many people that had yet to see my stuff!

Myself and Tomi Mustapic decided to put on an event to showcase my fall winter 2011 collection. We brought in DJ Adrien Villanova from Paris, and put on a pretty big event for my first time putting on a show (considering the horrible snow storm) we had a great turn out!!

we had amazing sponsors including one of my absolute favorite people that I have gotten to meet so far in the Fashion Industry Jami Symons. He created all of the wigs for the show and the hair coats as well. He is brilliant and such a great person!

ESCRIME ALBERTA FASHION WEEK

I showed Escrime for the second time at Alberta Fashion week. I also added in 3 mens outfits for this collection as a trial. My second attempt was much better than this one.

I also had a review done on this collection on calgary fashion which i couldnt have imagined such great words to be written about my designs!!!
". We were all very appreciative of the inventive nature of the collection and hope to see much more from Tomney. Her strong craftsmanship and beautiful designs are sure to keep us coming back for more."

ESCRIME SPRING SUMMER 2011

This was my second collection. Spring/summer 2011. This photoshoot was done by one of my favorite White Cedar. She has done lots of photos of my collections since this one. I also got to work with my favorite model Rena from Mode she killed this photo shoot (you can also find her in my previous post : various photos from wwx)

This collection was based off the sprt of Fencing, I also created fencing masks for the models to wear.
